About Gamesley Community Group

We are a non-profit organisation comprised of local Gamesley residents and trustees who care about providing services and activities to improve the lives of the community. Our range of clubs and programmes, from toddler groups to social events for elderly people, take place at Gamesley Community Centre.

Who are we?
What do we do?

The Community Centre currently hosts weekly sports sessions for children, including football coaching, run by local people who are passionate about fitness and fun. We are also home to Gamesley FC, a men's senior team who play in the Hope Valley Premiership. Founded in 2025, the team plays every Saturday on the grass pitch behind the Community Centre which provides a space for the community to come together and support the team.

Our Vision

The current outdoor pitch facilities at Gamesley Community Centre are unsafe, having been damaged by years of adverse weather and neglect by the previous owners of the space.

A vibrant sports and recreation hub would allow local teams to train and play on an accessible and all-weather surface rather than having to travel long distances. We also hope to encourage more Gamesley residents to get active with their friends and family by taking part in a wide range of sports and community activities, whatever their age and ability.

We Need Your Support

We will be fundraising throughout the year to raise money for the new multi-use sports facility in Gamesley which aims to help the community thrive and nurture passion for sport.

We are working with Football Foundation to match fund this project, to help bring a much needed new facility for the whole of Glossopdale.

With your generous donations, we will be able to bring the facility to life. Whether big or small, through fundraising or sharing on social media, all contributions will help to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of people of all ages in Gamesley.
